Teens in Summer (Asheville, Clayton: YMCA, high school, camp)

Does anyone know of places where 15 year old teens might be able to volunteer this summer to keep busy and get good experience?

Make-A-Wish of Eastern NC has several volunteer opportunities ranging from office work, wish granting, fundraising, and their "kids for wish kids" program.

Higher Ground Summer Camp accepts volunteers who are 16 and older. Not helpful for this summer, but perhaps for next year.

There are tons of places that you could volunteer at I am sure. Check out some of the local non profits like JDRF, ALS, Cancer Society, etc.

I saw something yesterday on wral about the wake animal shelter, or maybe spca needing lot of people also.

My teen will be volunteering at the YMCA for the summer. They hire volunteers starting at 14.

The hospital in Clayton uses high school students in the summer as volunteers so I assume other area hospitals do too.
