Looking for a reasonable and reliable installer to have 2 flat panel tv's wall mounted. One is 37", other is 42". Best Buy wants $249 for each!!! We have outlets in place and a chase pipe for threading the HDMI's. Any recommendations?

Default Reasonable Wall Bracket

I don't know if you still need the mounting hardware, but I got a flyer from IKEA yesterday and NO kidding... the mounting bracket for a flat screen TV was $19.99 - WHAT? $19.99 you ask??? I am telling you the TRUTH! Says that the Uppleva Ormo (?) is 26" long, has a max load of 132 Lbs, & fits screen sizes 32"- 50". You can probably look it up online.

We installed our 52" flatscreen TV and if you already have the cabling in place it is a piece of cake (of course I wasn't the one lifting it!). Just be sure you get it soundly in the wall studs... drywall screws are NOT going to cut it.

$249 each = ripoff if you ask me. Save that $500, buy yourself a really good drill and studfinder, and use the rest to take a vacation, buy Tivo or better yet... send ME the leftover cash for being so helpful!

.

LCD, Plasma, Home Theater, Stereo, Install Professional (http://raleigh.craigslist.org/ele/1728311888.html - broken link)

we used this guy and he was fantastic. he installed three tvs for us and was very thorough. hooked up our surround sound and made sure all the tvs were calibrated correctly. one of the installs is actually a picture on this link. the stone fire place is one of ours.

Thanks brooks2007 and phototaker!

brooks...that IS an excellent price from IKEA..even more excellent than the $23 mount we ordered from monoprice.com! At that price...who's gonna complain over a few bucks..wow..what deals compared to what they get at the stores. Sooo... you've encouraged us to attempt the job on our own and if all goes wrong...we'll call YOU! haha...j/k That's where phototaker comes in...if we fail we will use your recommendation. I saw your tv over the stone fireplace....looks beautiful!

Thanks again to you both for your replies....much appreciated!
