I'm dropping into say hello to all my South Dakota friends. You guys are the best and I am so glad that I found such good friends here. This is IS one of the friendliest boards at City Data.

We've been busy researching retirement locations and I think we've finally settled upon an area we plan to move to. Unfortunately it is not South Dakota. We are looking at northern Arizona as the weather there is cooler than here but not as cool as South Dakota. One of the areas we are considering is very conservative and much to our liking.

I am sorry South Dakota did not work out, but we will visit when ever we can. In fact, one of the selling points for a retirement location is the ability to easily fly into Rapid so we can visit every summer.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks! I do love South Dakota and would have loved to have moved there but the old bones are getting old. Also, I have some new health conditions that would make it easier for me to live in a slightly warmer climate. The joys of gettin' old :-)

If I ever make it to the point that my wife and I can retire, in 30 years or so, I'd like to do the snow bird thing. A cabin in the mountains and a camper to travel.

We bought a camper last summer and did the world tour of Wyoming last September. Life is too short to put off doing the things we enjoy or living where we want to live.
