Pros and Cons of Rapid City (mobile home, living, statistics)

I can see all the statistics about Rapid City but I would like to hear about the pros and cons from people who live in the area. Thank you so much.

Pros... Black Hills are great. It's not Baltimore.

Cons... depends. Winters are cold, it's a small post on the frontier. It really depends on where you're coming from and what you're used to.

Are there any over-55 manufactured or mobile home communities in the RCarea? Are they in safe parts of town, or nearby towns?


Have you been having a wet year, like many other parts of the country? Has humidity become a problem? As I recall, RC is normally a dry place where hot temps are not terribly uncomfortable, like in the South.

I would love to visit there. My mom and dad were married there 70yrs ago. My mom grew up on the Standing Rock reservation. Would love to visit that area too.
