We are looking forward to buy a house in this area and were surprised at the differences in listing prices of houses by realtors and market value on Zillow and other websites. How do you know what is the real price of the house without making an offer and getting appraisal done. Thanks.

What state? Some are non-disclosure states and Zillow is just a guess and has no relation to actual sold prices.

Realtors are welcome here but do see our Realtor Advice to avoid infractions.

align yourself with a realtor and have them show you recent comps in the areas of the homes you are interested.

I've apparently gotten to the point that when I read the word Zillow, I let a bit of a chuckle.
