This legislation is clearly a double standard. Personally, I don't think it's okay to walk away from ones obligations, but there are already negative consequences attached to defaulting on a mortgage, so I see no need for the government to get involved.

I agree something "else" should be done to discourage the strategic defaults, but it is a double standard, and quite frankly, wrong.
