The second I get the Mega Millions number... I'm gone.
Ha, I was thinking the same thing! I'm definitely out of Illinois if I win on Friday...
If I could move anywhere assuming I'm still in reality and need my job, then I'd move to a suburb with a nice downtown and a metra station, and I'd be within walking distance of the train. If I don't need to worry about working, then I would have entirely different criteria.
Into a camper and tow vehicle and just travel all over the lower 48 states...when I got tired or too old to do that anymore then I would buy a small house big eonough for one person and a couple of acres of wooded land out in the middle of nowhere and live out the rest of my days, gardening and
crocheting...

I'd still stay where I'm at if that happens... I'll just buy up the horse farms here & start racing Arabians as a hobby.
Anywhere else "if" I have to move "again" to, will have to be...
#1) A great shelter (a good house basically; if have to be new, required to be built by myself as the GC)... move in ready, nothing needs fixing.
#2) Great Location... like Atop a hill, rural etc. (high enough elevation so I don't get flooded basement)
#3) Place w/ good mild weather (not hot but still with 4 seasons).
#4) ***NO HOA

When you are looking at moving what are you looking for?
I am particularly interested in what you would look for if you were going to move a long ways away from where you are now?
The best way to look at this is with a hypothetical “if you could live anywhere what would you look for in the place that you are moving?”
The grass is not always greener on the other side. I live in a great city. If I were to move it would be for better climate, culture, quality of life. Oh, and lower living costs!
I'd buy a couple places, one in my hometown, one in Ireland (possibly Scotland) Definitely get the heck outta Maryland. I'm not a fan.
