Nice big house. Just need updating..IN EVERY ROOM.
Big house (6,000+ square feet), yes, but on a relatively tiny lot (1/3 of an acre). I would MUCH rather have a house half that size on a lot twice the size ... or even a house 1/4 that size on a lot 4 times the size. Give me SPACE between my house and my neighbors' houses.
I did like the courtyard, the indoor built-in pool, and the "friends" in the dining room* ... are they staying?
It would take forever to get rid of all that wallpaper. I'm trying to get rid of some in my current house ... aaggggh.
LOL, I guess compared to ridiculously high COL cities like PNW, Cali, and some parts of the Northeast, Texas is "cheap". But it is all relative as the salaries tend to be lower and the property taxes can make a "cheap" house's mortgage be the same as a higher priced home elsewhere. There are many other American cities that are more affordable than Austin, Houston, or Dallas these days. Only high earning transplants from the aforementioned areas can consider things "cheap".
Went into a home, had a walkout basement overlooking the lake. But in what would normally be a family room or den the family (Hindu) had a complete life-sized pantheon of Hindu gods. Suffice it to say, this room was photographed very carefully, totally obscuring the shrine.
I'm wondering about the locked gate in front of what appears to be the front door. To me, it suggests that crime is a problem there. Either that, or the residents feared getting burglarized.
Scroll down to the 6th photo. Have you ever seen anything weirder? Why would a listing agent sign off on it?
Maybe the agent wanted everyone to know that dining room was perfect for those small intimate family dinners. Or for entertaining, ala HGTV. Depends on how you look at it, lol.
