just read this thread on another forum , just wondering did anyone figure out anything unexpected after they moved into their home?

Althought I can agree with the sentiment in your post I would have to say it was a bit uncalled for

I only moved 3 miles from my previous home, so nothing about the neighborhood or community was unexpected. I'm not going to join in praising or bashing NYC, because I have never lived there and have no idea of what it would be like.

As for the house itself, it's completely my fault for not measuring, but I didn't realize that the laundry room was so narrow. I can't even open the dryer door all the way without it hitting the opposite wall. The dryer is still easily usable, though, so actually this doesn't bother me at all.

What I was told? The real estate agent said the place was being sold "as is". Really, it wasn't a problem at all. Now the place is worth much much more than when I bought it, and the area has become 'highly desirable'. When opportunity knocks, don't close the door.
