But there's 3 bathrooms in that house and the rest of them are more updated. OP can just pee in one of the other ones.
I agree...it is beige. Change the wall color to enhance the beige....I hope someone that truly appreciates this lovely home buys it. Doesn't sound like the OP truly appreciates the shape this home has been kept in. What a wonderful lot too!

If thats all-original from the 1970's; someone has been taking VERY good care of that house. I think it's beautiful.

I love the rest of the house too. It's even got a fireplace. The bedrooms are large and really nice. I only wish there was something like that in my area at that price. I'd grab that house in a heartbeat.

and we seem to have misplaced the OP...

Found the house online.... That house is remarkably well maintained by someone that really loved it. For the minor things that are dated, heck! The rest of the house is very livable while updates are being made and those updates don't really need to be made at one time.

That is a great house.

Even has a decent basement.

I didn't see the online photos, but it sounds great to me too. Updates can be made when you can afford them. The property/location is great.

I think with the problems, dark cupboards, boring paint, gray kitchen floor, etc., I'd do a total tear down and start from scratch.

Of course, my house is 100 years old.

Because the kitchen needs updating and the paint colors are boring, you'd tear the whole house down?

Redoing the kitchen and repainting are a heck of a lot cheaper not to mention quicker than a whole house rebuild.

I wouldn't, as I mentioned I have a hundred year old house. The supposed "issues" I mentioned with this house are just background noise which can be remedied, if index they indeed need to be, for a couple weekends and $1000.

There was a guy on here the other day who wanted to do a teardown (on a 450K house) because he needed a new roof.

Like others, I found the listing.

Did you notice that it's not on the public water system and you'd have to maintain your own cistern and septic system?

Personally, I think that you can't afford this house. It's over your max budget as is, and while it may be liveable, it's not in the condition you want your house to be. Just because some people dismiss that as a concern doesn't mean you have to agree with them.

Also, I noticed it's about double the price of homes in that town. Obviously the land adds value. But the reality is that you can't afford both the house in the condition you want it to be in and the land.

This one doesn't have the same amazing view but still a lot of land with a house that is updated to a more modern aesthetic.

or this one. It has has some pretty nice land and while it needs a lot of updating, it's half the price so you could actually afford to do it.
