I guess it depends on where you live..we are in St. George, Utah area (southern Utah),we are looking in the 250,000-300,000 price range..that is a mid size mid range home here.
We are looking at Tampa Fl and plan on buying for 450-500,000.
We were planningon spending more, but the taxes there are outrageous, often 5 figures!
Yes we found with our move to CT that taxes definityly played a part in where we were willing to live. We just wouldn't pay Fairfield county taxes. We got a much better quality house also by moving out.
