This hasn't caught on in my area yet. Has anyone else been seeing it? What do you think about it?

Interesting and cool but it blurs the lines of making it hard to tell what is real and what is fake.

I like it. But it doesn't help people actually IN the house looking at it. So actual staging is probably more effective

I've been doing virtual staging on my vacant homes, as well as homes where I feel the furniture is out dated, and I get many compliments on it. The agents love it, especially when it's "older" furniture as it allows them to show their buyers how modern furniture can completely change the look of a room. It's worth the money.

I looked at a few homes that used it during my recent search. Overall I liked it as a buyer- made it easier to visualize what the property would look like if it weren't vacant.

You will see more of this virtual staging very shortly in homes that are already vacant using AR technology (Augmented Reality) especially in the Apple iPad Pro products.

The ability to add furniture, change paint, wall, and flooring appearances will revolutionize interior staging.

How do you do this for houses with outdated or unattractive furniture? The original photo doesn't have to be of an empty room to start with?

No, the room doesn't have to be empty. The virtual staging programs can remove anything from a picture. It costs more, as it's more labor intensive, but it's worth it.

This is really cool, but I wonder how many people will be disappointed and disillusioned when they see the actual house in person? Will it be such a negative that it sours them on the home? There was a house for sale recently here that looked amazing in pictures and I couldn't understand why it had not sold. Then we saw it in person and the place looked a lot worse in real life. Seems like what matters most is how a buyer feels when they walk through a house.

False advertising just like breast implants and plastic surgery.
