This helps in keeping privacy up to where you want it and still get the top light or view you want, say of the trees or mountain.

Which is why we got topdown-bottomup blinds. You can do it both ways.

There's that pesky thing called gravity though.... engineering a bottom up blind is more expensive.

Another way I could have put it was "Blinds should be designed more like pants rather than shirts".

Hey! This is a PG forum.

40 years ago we put cafe curtains over the lower sash of DH windows.
Top half was open to daylight & moonlight 24/7 except when we pulled the blind down.
