3 years ago. We returned to the area and used a different agent.

I live in a (relatively) sleepy small city in the upper midwest. When I first moved here about 8 years ago a female agent was murdered in a house she was showing. No details, no suspects, murder still unsolved.

It is worth noting that the house where her body was found was located in a posh upscale neighborhood.

If I were driving around and showing empty homes to people who are essentially strangers I too would take precautionary measures.

Wait what? This happened three YEARS ago?

I thought this happened yesterday, and was a current situation you needed to decide how to come to peace about.

Good grief.... you do like to create drama don't you?

What difference does it make when it happened? I was just wondering what other agents thought of the situation

Oh it makes a big difference, whether it's a current real life concern you need input on, or just "Thundarr's muse of the day".

Don't get me wrong... I think it's fine to start conversations on interesting topics just for fun. It's a forum, and we're all on our free time here. But you might have noticed, a few here are starting to doubt your sincerity because of HOW these topics are being presented.

And I get their frustration. I like helping real people with real questions... sometimes I have less time for people who I think are just using us for their own entertainment. I at least appreciate those who are honest about their reasons for the posts.

It wasn't a big deal, I was just trying to get the take on it from the Real Estate Professionals on this Forum.

back in the 70's my parents were transferred from Kansas City to Atlanta. I was a teenager and went along with them when they flew to ATL to house hunt. The agent that picked us up at the hotel (1) was a good ole boy - my poor mother couldn't understand a thing he said is accent was so heavy, (2) drove a lemon yellow Coupe de Ville and as we were driving along he mentioned that he was a "Sheriff's deputy" and carried his handgun to assist in the apprehension of criminals. Now as I said, I was a teenager (14?) and had never been around guns. My mom said my eyes were as big as dinner plates. My dad asked if it was common that he had to help out - and the agent Boasted "YEP, just last week, I caught an escapee near the federal pen - was headed to look at a new listing and heard about the break on the news".
I thought "where am I ? Is this a joke? Why are we moving here?" He was well known for assisting law officers....

If you have unhappy clients I understand why they need to carry. One salesperson I met carried a police night stick in the front seat, with her sales practices, I understand why she needed to have protection!

Perhaps you should look for a different agent.
