I don;t know why Americans are obsessed with European chateaux. This one in particular failed to be beautiful, majestic or European. It's a kitsch if you ask me. something that Trump would like if he would put gold stuff everywhere. Yuk!

It doesn't say how much property comes with it. Better be several acres.
I like the look, but the size is absurd. Conspicuous consumption at its finest.

You think that will be enough to protect it from the river flooding.

This thing is a big turd in this neighborhood. There are some pretty large estates at the north end of the island, but nothing like this monster and it is totally out of place in this location.

Fourth, the house does not fit the community. Grosse Ile, while somewhat wealthy is not an welcoming home to ostentatious displays of wealth. Our billionaires (or hundred millionaires whatever they are) live comfortably with people on food stamps. We all shop at Kroger, hang out at the bakery, tie bots together in the summer to make a floating party. A very few people are too good for the rest of us, but that attitude is not generally welcome here. Get out and go to Birmingham or Bloomfield Hills if you want to live like that.

It's been several years since I was on Grosse Ile, so my view may be outdated. There are some very nice homes and settings on the island, but that one is out of place. My first reaction is that it is a structure (hesitate to call it a home) built by someone who wants to demonstrate that they have a lot of money and can build something that big and costly even it is out of character and ugly.

I think for that kind of money, I'd have a better boat. How's that?

I was thinking the same thing! I personally wouldn't buy anything for $29mil in Michigan or probably anywhere in the U.S. At any rate, it's not my style. If I had that kind of money to spend on a home I'd build to my taste.

It is absurd, in that it is far too large.

It isn’t beautiful by any means. It is, at best, boring and uninspired. There is nothing notable about it other than size.

Not something I would want personally, but I'm sure there would be lots of takers.

Seems like if you could afford $29Million that you would just have your own house built to your own specifications and taste. Love the locale, however, across from the water like that.
