Sewage fees where I live are $70 per month. Figure the economics out.
When I bought my house seven years ago I had to replace the septic system. Removal of the old system and installation of a brand new tank and leach field cost $15K in total.
Your annualized sewer cost is $840. You would surpass my septic installation cost in year 18 of sewer payments. Septic systems can last much longer than 18 years if properly maintained. Furthermore sewer fees can increase over time. As a homeowner who takes care of my property I'd go septic over sewer at $70 per month.

Here, in town, a new hookup to sewer can cost $40K or more in fees. Not direct costs for system parts.... fees from our city for the privilege of hooking up to it. It's outrageous. I would try to hang on to a septic like grim death for as long as I could, with that choice.

Where I live there is no sewer available which is fine by me. I also have a private well for water although there is shared water from a private company along the street. I was offered a tie in for $5K but declined. I am holding onto my well for as long as it generates ample clean water. When I lived closer to the city, the water cost more than the sewer.
Here's to country living. :-) Where I live I'm pretty sure there will never be sewer. I can't even get cable
