We are currently trying to sell our home in the NE Section of the Bronx. We have been living here for just over 5 years and decided to put her up for sale using the realtor that sold her to us. She is from a small local place. Anyways we are incredibly unhappy with this company. Our realtor is not in the office often (1 - 2x a week) and the head realtor doesn't want to show the house. We have had people knock on our door saying he doesn't want to show it or that they do not return calls and one couple even came by and told us that he told them to come and knock on our door, that we would show it for them???
We have been on the market since March 30, 2009 and probably had 20+ people actually knock on our door and 50+ ppl stop and ask us about the house and what they have to do to come in and see it. Of course we tell them to call the realtors office and recently we've been giving out our realtors cell number directly (with her permission of course) just to make sure she gets the calls.
My husband was thinking something was wrong because with all of these people, our realtor only showed it to 3 people so far. So I had my brother call the office and ask about the house and the main guy there said he would not show it, that if he wanted to see it only the listing agent was gonig to show it...now, everyone in that office is supposed to show it, why is he refusing?
I called our listing agent on this that day (over 2 weeks ago) and she was super defensive and I have tried calling her since but she doesn't return my calls now.
Now, I am not trying to back out of our exclusive, which ends June 30 (though I really would like out), I find it appauling that she won't return my calls. They haven't showed the house in over a month and I really don't want to go the whole month of June not showing our house.
Here's my delimma, July 1 we will probably sign on with a bigger company like Century 21 or Prudential. My husband does not want to do an exclusive but I am worried that if we do not do an exclusive people won't want to show it. I want a realtor that is hungry, that wants to work, I don't mind dishing out the commission and am willing to give a bonus to the realtor that sells our house but it won't sell if no one is being brought here.
Any words of wisdom? Also, please PM me if you have realtor suggestions...thanks!
