Nothing in Massachussetts either, or should I say Taxachussetts, as we like to call it! Go South, more affordable that direction. That's why we are moving down there. Besides, way too much crime here. Good Luck wherever you go!

In my Denver metro suburb, there are seven listings between $145k-$155k. All are two bedroom townhouses ranging from 800-1200 sq. ft.

Here in north Peoria AZ, our development has a few foreclosed homes that origianally sold for the very high 200,000's and 300,000's for $150,000 and under. You can get new builds down the road for $130,000 +.

In Gainesville, Georgia, I know of a foreclosure that is lakefront on Lake Lanier with dock for $150k. The front gutter is falling off, but I hear it has granite counter tops inside. Also under heavy tree cover with no grassy lawn area, just a sloped, wooded lot. Approx. 1972 year built, brick exterior. I would say 1,800 sf max.

What does "no onward chain" mean?

And that first house, the one with an electric shower? Do tell, what is an electric shower? Surely they aren't talking about something in the shower stall itself, are they?

In Dayton Oh you can buy a decent older small to medium size house in a decent school district, probably moderate condition, standard or slightly bigger lot, in an older suburb. In other words perfectly liveable. Houses here tend not to have basements though which since I'm not a native bugs me a lot.
