Hi - I recently come across a few houses that have 'conditioned crawl space' in their literature. I did not know what this was so I googled it to learn a little more.
Builders and realtors - will this be a good selling point down the road? We currently live north of Charlotte, NC and are looking to buy in the same area.
We generally don't have many homes with crawl spaces here but from what I know of them they are a decent plus. Not sure how much added value there is though.
You could call the local electric company and find out if they know what the energy savings would be on a typical home constructed this way.
I'd see it as a slight plus but not a game-changer. Wood subfloor instead of concrete slab opens up the flooring options and lets you put in solid wood floors instead of effectively limiting you to engineered hardwoods.
I should have been more specific, I can see conditioned crawl spaces as a plus but not sure how much value it would add.

I had a air conditioned crawl space once.
Some of the ductwork had come loose.
But seriously, AC costs money and I would only want to blow AC into areas I was living in.
During the hot or cold months I often close off a room or two and not blow heat/cold into them to save moeny.
Don't think you need AC in a crawlspace, mine stays 70F even when it is 100 outside. Never heard of "conditioned", what is it? TLTSFIOG.. lol
