It doesn't get much easier than chocolate mousse, but I don't know if that's ordinary or not to you. I seldom make it, so it would be a treat here.

I use Jello chocolate pudding and cool whip to make it, but you could always add real whipping cream instead and even some rum. You can garnish it with real whipped cream on the top, some shaved chocolate (from one candy bar - so it's inexpensive) and a maraschino cherry, to make it look pretty. The cherries probably add the most cost.

If you don't have something appropriate and pretty to serve it in, you could use the individual portion, ready made pie crusts and make it like a little chocolate mousse pie.

I LOVE IT! I even have some recipes on there myself! I'm not much of a cook until I lost my job recently. I always would make the basics...nothing interesting. And the same things week after week. Now, I cook something new all the time, and much healthier. I find so many ideas there! And you can search for anything! And I love the reviews. You can see what people really think, and look at the suggestions on how to change it up if there's something you don't have or don't like. Haven't quite broken into the dessert aspect yet, but as I was looking for you I saw a bunch that I saved to my box that I'll be making now too!

Chocolate covered strawberries are so easy. Just melt some chocolate an dip the dry strawberries.
A bit more work but still easy, are profiteroles....Just little creampuffs (easy to make, but impressive), filled with mint ice cream (or any flavor) and drizzled with chocolate sauce.
