Going on vacation and I have some eggs to use up, for or five. The last jar of pickles I finished I saved the liquid. Can I just hard boil and peel those eggs and plop them in the pickle juice? Will that work? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
OP, how long will you be gone for? Eggs keep for a very long time in the refrigerator.
I've never made pickled eggs, but that is basically how you would do it. Except, is that dill pickle juice? Dill pickle eggs sound a little weird to me.
If you do it, you would boil the pickle juice before you add the eggs. Seriously, though, get a good rcipe for pickled eggs off the internet and use that.
Unless you are going to be gone for more than a couple of weeks, your eggs will be fine in the refrigerator. They'll store better as fresh eggs than they will as cooked eggs in vinegar, unless you plan on canning them.
Pickled eggs is the first suggestion on the list. How long does it take for the egg to become pickled? This doesn't sound all that good to me, but I am generally a vinegar lover so maybe I should try it...
I thought this post had gone the way of Jeb Bush! Anyway thank you for the replies. I ended up making lousy scrambled eggs with them before we went away. I am definitely going to try it. As Missy2U says. What do I have to lose except some stale eggs which I seem to always have around. Debsi, when I do I will resurrect this post again.

(and not a dumb question, at all)
Actually I love B&B pickles so that is what I would be using. I just hate to waste anything and as I love the flavor of the pickles I thought it would work with eggs. Maybe make an egg salad out of them. Thank you for the suggestions. I will definitely boil the liquid first.
I wasn't laughing AT you, I was laughing WITH you. It was cute that you did the whole Dear Moderator post. I think we have all felt that way on here at one time or another. (You are welcome for the blessing!)
