I mindlessly bought a chub of liverwurst which is glaring balefully at me every time I open the fridge, daring me to do something with it. I have recipes for spreads but does anyone have any ideas for killer SANDWICHES using liverwurst? (the simpler , the better) Other than slathering it with good mustard, I don't have any ideas. Thanks in advance!

I like my liverwurst sandwiches with mustard and coleslaw on top or spread it on ritz crackers.

When I was a kid (I'm vegetarian now.) I was addicted to liverwurst with mustard relish sandwiches. That's all that is needed. I can still remember how they tasted! Yum!

LOL. Look what I just found!

I just like plain liverwurst spread on crusty baguette. Open faced.

We only had it on toasted rye bread - nothing else on it.

Yes please. This is how we ate them (as a kid/family) at home as well; decades ago.

Spread on toast & top with capers, lots of yummy little capers. They go well with the liverwurst.
