Having trouble finding good instructions on how to use the broiler in the bottom broiler drawer in a gas oven. Can I make grilled chicken breast down there?

I am going to try and make tandoori chicken not sure how it will turn out.

You turn it on, let it heat up. Put you food in there on the broiler tray. Leave the door gapped open.

Food will cook fast. Oven will be an awful mess with splatter when you are done.

No help - I honestly have never used the broiler feature in my oven - (I have used it in the toaster oven) - otherwise - seems like too much work - hehe

I do Tandoori chicken on the barbecue and that works well. I burn off the mess when I am finished cooking it.

By the way, you can turn out a heck of a good steak in the broiler, but I don't think I've ever seen a self-cleaning feature on a broiler and it does make a mess.

Not only a mess, but most broilers are underneath the oven so you are down on the ground try to clean it up.

Be warned a broiler can and will shatter a Pyrex glass baking dish. Ask me how I know.

The new Pyrex glass is a far cry from the old stuff.

Broiler is good for beef, to hot for chicken
Best to bake.

Had one of those bottom broilers years ago, I appreciate that space much more as room for some skillets/pans.
