Anyone made them at home?
I tried. Followed Internet recipes and YouTube tutorials to the dot.
Can't do it. They aren't so "gummy" as they try to present on their channels.
They also stick together and coated in starch don't look appealing.
Store bought gummies are coated in wax. They are shiny and gummy.
But I am not going to fool with Carnouba wax. That's for cars and shoes, not for my gummies.
Tried to coat in a little oil - yuck!
Tried sugar powder - they still stick together
Tried cornstarch - nah. It leaves funny taste on the tongue.
My GKids love them, but the store bought aren't too healthy, and home made could be just a perfect natural vitamin source. Even fun to make them together.
I would like to find a perfect recipe that uses natural fruit juice, could be concentrated (no added sugar), some lemon juice (as needed), and natural gelatin. It should be doable - no?
If YOU actually made them and succeeded - please share.
Thank you!!

doesn't work! Agar Agar won't get gummy, it get pretty solid but crunchy. Tried gelatin, but it doesn't work either. (see above)
No suggestions from me. I can't seem to make gummies and have had no success trying to make cotlets. If you want them, just buy them. Store bought probably aren't going to be any less healthy than home made. Sorry, candy doesn't get classified as healthy, no matter what the source is.
I agree about candies, but those gummies are just pure fruit juice and gelatin - both very healthy alternatives for a snack.
Of course I could just buy some organic version, but this is a Recipe Forum...
There is this - they are a little less chewy than regular gummy candies. Commercial gelatin is loaded with sugar and artificial flavorings. I haven't made these in 20 years. Kids too old and no grands yet. I liked them though.
If you are making them for kids, just make the jello jigglies. Your kids will be perfectly happy with those. They aren't gummies, but the recipe works and they are fun to eat.
