The child support would go to my hypothetical ex-wife. And isn't child support half your salary? That's a lot of money to lose. Is it so bad that I would rather just play it safe and not take the risk?
No, it's not bad - given your aversion to any risk PLEASE do us all a favor and get a vasectomy ASAP.
The truth is, some people should NEVER procreate, and you are one of them
Well, what ELSE are you going to do? There are only so many "thrills" you can get out of life and only then if you are fortunate enough to stay healthy and wealthy enough to do them. You can choose to be alone your whole life, it's really no skin off anyones nose and you don't have to justify it to anyone. Most people see marriage, kids, family as a positive thing however..an experience they don't want to miss.
Marriage is no longer a sacrament. It's a contract between the man and woman and the government. .
When was marriage ever truly a sacrament then? Back when they were arranged and had dowries (contracts between families in essence)? When it was only the church sanctioning it? (historically they kind of had there own reasons for wanted to control it - same as the government).
Perhaps some of my history is lacking and I'm forgeting a time frame when marriage was that way, so I'm open to hearing.
It is what you make with the person you marry no matter who "oversees" it.
Another question I have that's related to my original post: Why do older people insist I will change my mind? Yes, I am young (18) but I know what I want. It's almost like these people are trying to live my life for me when they tell me I will change my mind.
I'm throwing him back in the water. He's still larval.
