As someone who was married to one for 23 years (unknowingly) and had to learn a heckuva lot when he came out I can tell you guys that there are a lot of misconceptions on here--the same ones I had. A gay man can bed a woman every other night for 23 years and not barf. But. . .23 years later he's ready to barf b/c he really doesn't want an older woman--he wants an older man. And I can tell you that making out with a gay man is extremely similar to making out with a straight man, and I had a lot of experience with that when I got married. And the biggest one of all--most gay men are not fem--those are just the ones that you know about. The rest of them are the nice guys who don't seem to get many dates or the married ones who aren't out yet and a lot of them are big and hairy like my ex. And I hate to tell you younger ones this, but the thing that attracted me to my husband is that he was such a gentleman--he was the only guy I knew who wasn't trying to get in my pants.
Anyway, my dd's told me I need to get my "gaydar" tuned up b/c I started to flirt with one the other night. He was so hot. And the answer to your quiz is no--I don't waste my time on that. I've got bigger fish to fry.
... even though you knew he was gay and you had no chance?
Be truthful!
When I was in college I hung around this guy that I adored. I really liked him. We went to parties, met each others families. When he finally came "out", I was shocked. I literally had no idea.
So Yeah I was attracted to him but I didn't know he was gay. Does that count?
Yea. First, we got to understand that being gay doesn't mean a person acts a certain way. There are masculine gay guys, more feminine-like and then there is the simple fact that they are indeed men. Meaning, they have the body of a man, so if a woman likes men and the gay guy is an attractive man physically, then the woman would like what she sees. I never had a serious attraction, like, "Oh, I'm interested in him," after learning that he is gay, but it is possible to find a gay guy attractive initially. Besides, a lot of women live by the idea of how so many cute guys are gay or we've thought someone was sexy and it turns out they are gay. It's a little running joke and idea.
I work with a gay man and his husband works for another local business. I've told both of them on multiple occasions that I have crushes on them, although it's mostly in jest They're ridiculously good looking and absolute sweethearts! They've both told me that if they were straight, they would 'totally get up in my business' (their words, not mine!) so I figure that's as good as it's gonna get.
I saw these 2 attractive men in Macy's once. I was more attracted to the short guy. I followed them into the men's section. I was going to introduce myself, until shorty opened his mouth to the sales person. I knew he was gay and I turned to leave. boohoo boohoo
