Their daughter and her 11 year old son live with them (situation like mine), and the 11 year old found him in the bathroom. He ran and grabbed his friend's mom (his mom was at work), saying something's wrong with his Grandpa. She went over, ready to perform CPR, but he was long gone.

My dad said he had the dog outside last night and could hear Mr. Z coughing.

This is so sad...

I just found out a few minutes ago when my Mom came in. I remember watching a little while, but never saw an EMT show up, just the fire truck, so figured it wasn't anything too bad.

I can see their house out my window. All the lights are out except for the living room. Tree's not lit like it usually is.

So sad. I really feel for that little boy.

They were both my parents' age. In their 60s. Way too young. Really hits home.

Most fire trucks have a crew of EMT's even have advanced life support equipment and skills.

They run both firefighting and EMT.

Regardless, a family friend - someone we've known for 30 years - is dead. Sorry if I offended you.

Phil Phail #13,576:

Posting in 12 Days of C-D Christmas thread, thinking it was Chat, and proceeding to pour my heart out about something stupid.

*sigh*

At least Max's Mama was good enough to rescue me from myself. Thanks, MM.
