On a similar note, I checked out the book " The 48 Laws of Power", from the library the other day. It's meh, kindda boring. I assumed nobody would want to read it and tried to renew it so that I could go drop it off when it was more convenient for me. I waited till the last minute and then was told that there was a hold on the book, so I can't renew it. Now it's overdue. Who would want to read this crappy book!
That's what happens with holds... It's annoying. I also put holds on books I want to check out, though, and not necessarily buy. Many times they're not as interesting as I think. If that's the case, I try to drop them earlier. There are a few like this at home now.

I didn't read about him much, but I don't think he's a Western author (the name was Spanish and I believe I saw the word "shaman" describing him). I agree there's probably a lot of borrowing going on, though.
Talking about books, has anyone read, "The Tao of Physics"?? Although the title seems like it's for someone who's into a lot of science, it's not that deeply technical, I recommend everyone to read it.
I should read something by Krishnamurti. I like his quote:
“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
Yes, I have read almost all his books, none in English however, a lot of his works were translated from his original mother tongue which happens to be mine as well, I read it in my native language for that reason.
