Not really, when you compare the join dates. 4 years vs a few days?
Anyway, to stick to the topic, I think it depends on the definition of "chase", and the particular guy. Some guys get really weirded out by getting an email two days in a row. Some guys welcome it, and more. But if the guy is not responsive, yes, I think he would find continued contact and attention ("chasing") to be uncomfortable, just as many women would, should the situation be reversed.
"Whats current fashion trend?", "Who can win in a fight between red ants and fire ants?", "I love chewing gum. Discuss." .....and on and on and on and on...............
Thing is thats how couples got together back in the day. You found someone you were attracted to and you chased them all over the place until they finally gave in and said yes to a date. It was called "courting". Now its called "stalking".
