Sigh. My daughter is in Groton. I keep telling myself I have been through dozens of hurricanes, no big deal. It seems different though when its your daughter.
I just heard everyone was asked to evacuate the Outter
Banks, NC.
Jenkinson Aquarium ,NJ employees are staying to help their animals, water life cope with Irene.
I know it's a terrible thing to say, but you have never tried lamb????? You need to get out more.
I love lamb and I love gyros.
..My bad!
I have never been to a place that has served lamb before. And I don't want to buy lamb and cook it because I know I would cook it wrong, and I know lamb is an expensive meat.
Though I told my friend recently that at some point in thte near future we are going to get meat drunk. Heard it on Man V Food last night.

Of course...its your daughter! It's understandable.

They started evacuations yesterday - tourists first though. I don't think they said anything about residents until today, but it doesn't matter - most residents don't leave. OBX'rs are pretty tough, and now that Irene is forecast to come in as a Cat 1, I doubt many residents will go anywhere.

Of course!! I'm sure she'll be fine. Irene has de-intensified quite a bit, and it's most likely going to be just a few puffs of wind once she heads toward NYC.
Gyros are greek burritos and use lamb meat in them. Someone correct me on the greek thing if I'm wrong.
Well, to me it's sinful to compare good Greek pita bread to a tortilla, particularly corn tortilla, which totally sucks in my book.
I love lamb. Gyros... not so much...

I lot of people here haven't had lamb. I can understand that some don't like it, either. It is an acquired taste if you haven't grown up eating it...

Well, good to see ya here, Chess, but it's too early to count the chickens...
I tried falafel once, yuk!
Was told it was an aquired taste, I replied I wouldn't live that long.
