I'm at a bar in wrigleyville some friends watching the Vikings blow a 17-0 first half lead (Vikings usually aren't on regular TV if they play the same time as the Bears).

A smoking hot girl I went high school with walks up right behind me to meet a group of her friends, I notice her, tap her on the shoulder, say hi, she immediately recognizes me and gives me a hug. We chat for like 20 seconds, she says "I'm meeting some friends so let me say hi to them and then I'll come back and talk to you". I'm cool with that, I'm religious about football so I'm occupied with the game anyway.

Well, she never came back to talk to me, she was literally 6 feet away from me, and some dudes were hitting on her so I'm sure she was busy with that. The game ended probably 30 minutes later, I was furious as they lost with 26 seconds left and all 3 timeouts in their pocket (damn that team), and I said "later" to my friends and stormed out of the bar and went home. My friends understand as I've done this before when the Vikes blow it and they don't mind, we meet up at the same bar every sunday to watch football. But I never said bye or tried to talk to that girl again.

Would this be considered rude to the girl?

No, not at all. She had every opportunity to chat with you during the game and chose not to, so you were under no obligation to wait for her.

She never followed through on coming back to talk to you so probably never even noticed your exit.

Nope. Sounds like she had plenty of time to talk to you again.

The only thing I would be worried about if I were you is that you might have blown a chance to score with a girl you described as "smoking hot." Certainly not about her feelings.

She talked to you for 20 seconds give or take 10 seconds and didn't return like she promised and blah blah blah... You left because your team sucks (like normal)... What is the issue again?

This doesn't look like the season to get too upset about the games. McNabb is pretty awful, although the Vikings have some nice pieces and can hopefully (for them, I'm a Lions fan) get some competent QB play.

What you did isn't rude as she told you she would come back to chat and didn't. If she's a decent girl I doubt she'd be too upset about it.

Nah, she's on the V-team and it waiting until marriage. I doubt that changed from high school as so many guys were fighting for that back then and never scored. I didn't miss out on anything, trust me.

Ya know, I'm more upset with the coaching staff than McNabb. The lockout screwed this team over with a short offseason and it's difficult for a QB to join a new team, with a new head coach, with a new offensive scheme in a short time.

If a team goes into half time after a dominating first half and a substantial lead and blows the game BOTH TIMES it's on the coaching staff, not the players.

Personally, I hate when people do this. LIE!

If I were to make a statement to someone like that I make sure I follow through.

Sounds to me like this girl is not a good person. One of those, "I'll meet you at 8 at the resturant." Then you are there sitting till 9 and she still doesn't show all call.

Don't worry about it. She isn't worth it in my book. She shouldn't have said anything to you about returning if she had no intention of following through on it. Must be all about her if she was too distracted by the other guys talking to her.

She was probably hesitant to stand/sit too near some idiot sitting in a Chicago bar cheering for the f***ing Vikings! That could be dangerous to her health!
