Does sleeping with somebody on the first date ruin a possible relationship? (dates, wife)

Thoughts please? This has happened to me a few times...it happened to me a week ago, and most of the times it happened to me the lady initiated it

For me it becomes a FWB type situation for a short time, then after that we just move on...

It hasn't ruined any relationships for me (I'm a woman) and I've done it more than once, let's just say. (blush) Seems once they have me...they want to keep me! :thup

I'm not speaking from personal experience, but I don't think it definitely always has to ruin a possible relationship. However, if you know there's a good chance of that happening and you're possibly interested in a relationship, why not just hold off a while on the sex?

I'm a red-blooded male - if a woman offers it on a plate, I doubt many guys would pass on the opportunity...

In my experience if I sleep with a woman on the first date, then next time we talk the conversation will basically be about sex, and when we meet again it will be for sex. However, if there was never any sex on the first date, then I feel any further dates are more about getting to know the person

I never talk about sex when I meet a woman, but I am a bit flirty. This puts her more at ease, and then things often happen...

It's a myth perpetuated by the religious right.

Having sex on the first date or with holding sex does not equate with respect.

Lots of long term relationships have begun with sex on the first date.
