I soon surpassed all teachers in the area. I was supposed to go to college on that but when my dad died I had to get a job so we could have food and I dropped out of high school. I went off to the marines and then heard about fishing in AK while I was there. I went up there and made my way. I never did go back to school. I had kids and I was making so much more money than I could if I went to college but I still think about it sometimes. I stopped playing many years ago. I have broke all my fingers up north and I couldn't play the way I could before. It eventually bothered me enough I was brokenhearted and I quit it. When I was home last time I bought a keyboard because I was resolved to play again but I haven't found the courage yet. It sits in storage.
Musically inclined here too!

I have played a lot of instruments. Clarinet was the main one (as well as the E-flat and bass) but I've played flute, violin and trumpet as well. Never the piano though. Always wanted to learn that one but never did. Maybe that will be one of those things I do later in life.

My clarinet is sitting in my closet, maybe I'll pull it out one day.

Yeah, I played the trumpet and various other brass in school. They didn't have enough money for a piano and at that time synthesizers as they were called then were WAY out of the budget. Nor was there any strings as there was no teacher for them. I always wanted to try my hand at the violin though, so beautiful.
