I know guys who are shy feel anxious when approaching girls they are really attracted to, but would a guy feel very anxious and shy if he were approaching a girl that he wasn't really that attracted to? I'm curious.

I'm shy. I'm not sure what you mean by "approaching". If you mean hitting on / asking out / etc then I can't really answer your question because I've only ever "approached" one woman in my entire life.
But as for talking to women, I am very anxious and shy around most women, whether I'm really attracted to them or not. However, there is some small percentage of women that I'm not nervous around at all. Some of these women I am at least modestly attracted to. But I still haven't had the courage to ask them on a date. As I said, I once asked a woman out on a date, but she was one of those that I'm shy and nervous around and I didn't feel comfortable asking her out or talking to her at all. I just felt oddly courageous that day, and felt like for one day in my life there was nothing to lose.. Go figure.
I'm nervous around attractive women; the ones that pretty themselves up so much it's distracting. However, I'm more into inner-attraction; the plain-Jane type that are interesting on the inside.
More to the topic at hand, it depends on the conversation. Hmm, if she was someone I didn't know, probably, if I can keep my composure.
Nervous? Why? Are you envisioning yourselves banging these chicks or what? I mean i really dont get the whole nervousness line. Can someone explain it to me please?
I didn't make this thread to make fun of or belittle people. I am truly interested.

Do you feel nervous around the Plain-Jane types though?

Failure to communicate. It's always horrible when water-cooler-conversations go wrong no matter what you talk about.
I should follow what a friend of mine does/did; he was never afraid of talking to any women. Maybe that was because he was a rock star, but he wasn't afraid.

Thanks for your explanation. I too (like srjth) would like to know why people get "nervous" in front of others wrt to dating. May be seeing things from your perspective will give me a better understanding of your line of reasoning. Not judging so please post away

Thanks. I'm not really curious about why they get nervous talking to women they are attracted to because I understand that, I'm curious about if they get nervous talking to women they're not attracted to.
