Have you ever been involved in a relationship you had to keep secret from others? Like dating a co-worker, or some other type of relationship that had to be kept secret for various reasons? What was it? Who was it with? Why couldn't you be public about your relationship? How did it end?

I would probably never do that; if I was going out with somebody I'd want them to feel like they're not embarrassed to be seen with me, which is the way I'd feel if somebody even broached it and I'd not date a coworker, no way no how. It's not like I expect to be showy about a relationship but I don't want to feel like a potential partner would be uneasy with people knowing we were going out.

Funny story though, in high school a guy asked me out and told me we'd have to keep it secret since he was 18 and I wasn't and he could get in trouble. You can guess what my response to him was on that...

When i was a student assistant at the uni (freshman year) I was banging the assistant director of the Housing & Residence Life. We had to keep it a secret; well she wanted it that way so i respected her wishes. It was quite fun actually. She'd pick me up, thru the back of the building for lunch @ her condo... At times it happened at the office, after hours. Had to call it quits when she went from encouraging me to still hang out with girls my age to wanting to spend all her time with me aka controlling, possessive and jealous. She'd buy expensive gifts that i couldnt reciprocate and use it to guilt me into spending the weekend. Umm...I dont think so.

I doubt it. If I kept something a secret from the people I know, I sure as hell won't disclose it on a forum.

I was friends with kid since 7th grade. He dated a girl for 1 month when he was 19. Once we were both 21, that same girl started to come onto me. We ended up sleeping together and having a relationship for a short period of time. I knew his personality and I knew that I had to hide it from him. She "felt bad" doing that so she ended up telling him. He dropped me as a friend and yet he still talks to her.

Whatever, I don't need a friend that is going to get all upset over a girl he dated for 1 month. Nevermind the fact that he brought my ex flowers on valentines day and asked her out, the only difference is that she rejected him. This was an ex of mine that I dated for a year and a half.
