Another great local Meetup (dating, women, older, friends)

last night. With a bunch of folks who were ten to twenty five years older than I am. And this is the largest Meetup group in a one hundred mile radius.

Drugs and booze is what people do when they meet up around here.

And hookers. Whenever I go to my friend's house late on weekends there's always a few hookers leaving a house or 3 all coked up and trying to open up there car door.

I really wonder who was so eager for an actual relationship to come over on a group meeting. I always suspected that vast majority of people would actually see online dating as a way to find someone for casual sex, in full discretion... because they probably won't know you or your friends, nor would you know them, you'll deliberately hit on people who are a bit away from your part of town just in case.
This is how I see what most men and women would do in online dating in America and what I suspect that vast majority of folks with online dating profiles are using them for.


EDIT: btw, I can only imagine how shocked you were when you saw a crowd with middle-aged men being an overwhelming majority, and you being the only guy under 30 .. I guess a few of the attending (older) ladies told that you were cute, so you felt a bit better

Not sure who left the partial rep comment. But apparently it must be a bit much to ask to meet up with some people my age?

BTW, last night's get-together was fairly evenly split between women and men.

What was the meetup group's focus?

Depends on what they're doing.

[if, for example, it's a hiking or biking group, the women could be rather fit and good looking]

Sorry to hear that. I organize a Meetup group that has a lot of potential in terms of location and young professionals (men and women), but the problem is that the people are really flaky, and just generally unreliable. The events are definitely hit or miss, and I probably won't be organizing it much longer.
