Honestly, no. At least for me. If I'm grocery shopping, looking for a book, or driving in traffic, I'm not really looking for a guy. But that's just me, and I always try to be polite. It takes a lot of guts to ask for a number and I respect that.

More men need to give it a try. I'm tired of doing the male's job. Asking them out, touching their boob, smacking their butt....seriously though. Seems less men ask women out.

I'll help you out, that sounds like a lot of work, only because I'm a nice guy of course!

It's a lot easier for the women. Most women, from my experience, can go up to ten guys, flirt with them, whatever, and get at least 8 numbers out of the ten. Even mediocre looking women.
the problem guys make is that they go out to these places looking for women to approach. that's what's lame. anybody can tell you're there for reasons other than to buy food/books.
with that said both of these places do have a lot of women but the key is to let it happen naturally as opposed to "im going to whole foods/trader joes today hope theres hot btches there!"
if you see a nice looking woman at barnes and noble, approach her.
