Oh all you engineers and lawyers and salesmen..y'all don't know where it's at! Be a writer, get free alcoholism and an empty wallet, sit at your computer and tear your hair out! Also, you become successful after you die. Who could resist this dream job.
I'm a writer and I am doing ok...making about double what the OP is actually...lol
Definitely, you gotta do what you enjoy. Aerospace engineers and well just about any engineer is capable of making big bucks too, not all engineers stay at their base pay out of college. I love what I do though, it's been an interest of mine since I was a young teenager
It is really cool!
I too am fascinated with particular aircraft, but just looking at them and learning about them, not designing them. lol
I have a friend of a friend who was Aerospace/Mechanical at Penn State and he graduated a few years ago. He pretty much started at what I peaked at when he got a job with Boeing. Good luck.
Engineers can be unscrupulous scumbags too. But by and large, it's pretty ethical, probably because there's not a whole lot of money to be made by being so unscrupulous.
I told the girl who cut my hair the other day I was an engineer and she mentioned something about making a lot of $. Maybe I should have asked her out, and then she wouldn't have found out what I really made until later.
Haha. She was too young. Very cute though.
Hahahaha you should have! I bet you would still make a pretty good amount of money compared to her and the people she socializes with .
Your friend sounds like a lucky guy, Boeing and spacex are my dream jobs and the reason I picked my major
According to my 1099, yes. But money isnt everything. I would be happy with much less, I have everything I need so I don't worry too much about maintaining that income.
Yeah, but I'm guessing you're pretty advanced in your life, I'm 21 so. Hard to find publishers. Need more experience.
Yes you could say that! At your stage of life I was breaking into PR, then moved into association publishing, then magazine work, and now I write for individuals (speeches and ghostwriting). It's a gradual process.
