In this case, assumption does start off with an ass. It turns women on, because it touches the deepest and the most basic of human nature. It is not a conscious choice or response.

I agree. Wanting to abort your baby would be self-preservation, the deepest of all human urges.

i wish it was that simple. maybe at the time it is, emotions and instincts are such.
but the 67% divorce stats indicate its not that simple. not all of my or her urges are directed by wisdom or intelligence.

I have never been that interested in kids until the girl I'm with now. I think it's an issue of trust and commitment. I never felt like I could stick with someone 'for good' until now, and that makes me feel comfortable enough to have a kid.

Yeah, right.

Except for the millions who have been trying to PREVENT pregnancy since they were in their teens.

This. I don't think there is something I would LESS like my partner to say to me.

Why on earth are you even worrying about this? One person fed you an inane piece of advice based on her very personal beliefs. Who cares?

But please don't ever date anyone else with children if you actually believe that they cramp your style. If you're dating a man who has a child doesn't prioritize his kid while that child is dependent on me, trust me, he's defective.

You know what is even worse? When a chick says "I think I'm pregnant".

Oh really, you think? Do you have an MD? What on earth makes you "think" you are pregnant?

You either are or you aren't.

I believe there's some validity to this idea.

There's been only a couple guys I've dated whom I seriously craved their babies.

Even though I've never actually wanted to have children....

It's a rather strange phenomenon.
