Must be about the same age as I am, my first house was 29. Lost that one when my wife got cancer and bought one exactly like it not too many years later and it was almost double that. Same style house, same neighborhood, same size etc. Last I saw after the crash houses in the same area they are at the upper 100s, low 200s. We never saw the kind of housing market here though like they had in California and other places with the astonishing prices for so little house. Always wondered how kids starting out were supposed to make it in those places.

Not really, this was a very old working class neighborhood that has only deteriorated. This place had no insulation, central heat/air, or storm windows.

Yeah.... no kidding... it's really crazy. Even in this depressed market, the prices are still ridiculous. I have a co-worker, a younger guy in his late 20's and he's thinking of buying. He has a huge down payment ready and I keep telling him that the interest rates won't always be this low...

Okay, I'm having a minor crisis! It's going to be 85 degrees this week and I have nothing to wear!

I went through my bin of spring/summer clothes and it's either too big or inappropriate for work. Should have done this in the beginning of the week when I had time to go shopping

85 degrees? You don't need clothes, you need a lack of clothes!

LOL...we had no A/C either in NY but we go to school down here in August. No A/C in August is a sin in these parts! 98 degrees and 70% humidity is not conducive to learning!

Yeah... I remember starting school and summer hadn't finished up completely and I remember it being so hot the teachers would make you lay your head down on the desk, they'd turn off the lights...... just to try and cool off a bit.

Mrs. Chow said she remembers the same thing.....
