Teachers? I could see college professors, but your average public school teacher?
a buddy of mine in his mid-40s (divorced for about 6 years now with 2 high school age boys) has a girlfriend currently but told me when he was on the dating scene that he would be at bars and would be having great convos with women and when the topic of profession came up he would tell them he was a teacher and the discussion would die. i too once had a woman tell me she NEEDED to date someone with more earning ability a.k.a you can't afford me.
on the flip side i've heard from women who say they are really into military guys and police officers.
As a female - Several types of lawyers (those involved in the criminal justice system), anyone else involved in the criminal justice system, doctors, nurses, dentists, psycotherapists, clergymen, firemen, EMT workers, athletes, pilots, strippers, exterminators, and people who work in the pharmaceutical and tobacco industries.
Good thing I'm already married (to an IT guy) or I'd have no one to date.
I didn't read through 15 pages of this - did anybody mention truckers? That's what I do and I sometimes am curious if the womenses are looking at me like I'm some blue collar schlub...albeit a handsome one. (Ha!)

Because they euthanize almost all the animals in the shelter? I agree with this.
Psychiatrist/Psychologist - don't want to be analyzed constantly. I have lots of them in my family, and I hate the constant analyzing.
Policeman - giant egos, domestic violence issues & I'd be worried all the time
Fireman - I'd be worried all the time
Surgeon - narcissistic
Porn actor
Bartender
I would happily date a cop or a politician. I don't know why anyone would avoid dating them.
I won't go near a politician. Aside from the fact that I think they're pretty much all dishonest and devoid of ethics, I have no desire to live my life under a microscope.
However, whenever people say they won't date someone in law enforcement, I wonder if they've ever been arrested or done time, or are engaged in activities that would result in such.

Gambler is not really an occupation. You have to have a real job to support a gambling habit.
On the contrary. Some people actually do earn a comfortable living as professional card players. But much like MMA fighters and body builders or any other alternative type occupation, very few of them earn the big bucks doing it.
