At what stage of a relationship do you say "I love you" for the first time?

How do you say it? Do you make a dramatic thing out of it, do you do it casually?

generally when I feel it's genuine and not just the product of infatuation. Usually after a few months of intense dating. I've never cared if they said it back or not. It's just an expression of how I feel. Definitely not a dramatic thing.

I did, however, dump a guy who I dated for 14 months who NEVER said it back to me. Not once. Then he was shocked when I cited the fact that he didn't love me as a reason for breaking up. He wanted more time to figure out his feelings - I said he'd had enough time. I don't have a biological clock ticking away or anything, but a grown up should be comfortable with the concept of love.

Yo yo Ma, When you play the prelude from Bach´s Cello Suite No. 1, she would say "I love you" to you.

When you mean it.

Too bad they often don't care.

Is 4 months long enough to realize it's not just infatuation?

Plenty long enough. Many 50+ years of marriage were sealed in less then 1 year...even six months.

Nowadays, people date and string someone along for 10-15 years.
