OP, I hate to say it but it may be your delivery or how you act in general. I usually find sex jokes hilarious but the REALLY raunchy ones put me off. So do jokes made with that hanging-too-close leer. Ughhhhhhhhhh. (washing eyes with Ajax to get rid of the mental image)

Hanging too close leer? You mean he's in your personal space eyeing you or what? That's kinda weird, I'd imagine that probably creeps you out more than the bad joke. I've seen guys deliver horrible jokes and get perfectly good results, because they were casual about it.

I left a comment saying: "Your ideal, deal." being funny and she got serious. What can't take a condom joke? We used to joke like this in the past. Now it's more, she can use the jokes and if i use them there's a problem. I don't understand this..
and for those who don't get it, fire and ice condoms. hardee har har lol.... it's probably my bad timing again. But i figured that since we made jokes in the past, i'd make a joke. She'd make a sex joke on my status, i'd make one on hers. maybe she's changed. Beats me
If a guy I don't know or barely know makes a sex joke, yes, I'd be put off. It's just bad manners...tacky, classless.
the irony is she knows me pretty well. she's known me over a year and we've done these jokes before. As previously stated though, she's completely changed the whole ordeal by enabling her to make the jokes and disabling me from making the jokes.
Don't make a sex or condom joke that is centered on a little kids event. That would have been funny for a happy hour or BBQ for adults.
ETA: I re-read her comment and it looks like she was joking about the condoms in her post too, which makes it tacky on her part and even tackier that she was upset with your post.

In this case, bad timing... Her status mentioned kids. Your comment was inappropriate for the context.
I agree with that. She was laughing about the odd name for a kids deal and the OP made it personal toward her.
