Why don't guys ever approach me? (boyfriend, men, attractive, ugly)

Could it be because I'm really ugly or extremely attractive. I don't think I look bad and I take care of my self, but I'm definitely not perfect. It makes me depressed that I don't think I'll ever have a boyfriend because guys never approach me.

Well I am pretty shy though and I do act very aloof. Could this be the reason.

Do you ever make eye contact? Do you smile if they smile? If you seem disinterested they probably will not approach even if they are interested.
