It simply means the OP is different than his girlfriend, in which case he needs to decide if her disappearing every time she has too much drama in her life is something he continually wants to deal with. It doesnt sound like he does.

Actually I would want my SO to talk it out with me. I would want their help. I have clamed up before because of stress. Sometimes I need a day to recharge. And like you said, people are different. Its what one is willing to put up with.

It doesn't make sense not figuring it out together with a suppose love one.

What makes more sense, is that someone needs time (a break) to be with someone else

I dont do "breaks" or "not-talking" period.

If we have an issue it can be settled. Or even agree to disagree for the time being and move past it. I will be sitting there for days "wondering" what will happen.

Most girls ive dated know how I am about this so it wouldn't be an issue. Honestly if a girl I'm dating is going to blow me off then we are broken up and I am moving on.

Kids throw tantrums and do the whole "silent treatment." Adults discuss and move on. If you need time to "think about the relationship" then thats too much of uncertainty for the relationship all together.
