If you were going on a date with a guy and he didn't want to answer any questions about his past, would that raise red flags or is it not a problem?

As long as he didn't expect to hear about mine, sure why not.

If she asks "Have you ever thought about turning gay", definitely plead the fifth.

Past what? Past relationship history? Past education? Past life experiences? Questions needs to be more specific, IMO.

The reason I ask is because I don't really have a past and any questions would only lead to my own embarrassment.

You sprang fully formed from your father's skull, a la Athena?

I take it you mean past relationship history. I think there are women that prefer either. Some want to know everything, others prefer to know nothing.

If your past relationship experiences are limited, I wouldn't see that as bad or good. It's nothing to be embarrassed about. Sounds like this is a self confidence issue more so then anything else. Confidence isn't begotten in a bed.

Is this a hypothetical situation, in your OP? Some women ask, others don't. On the first date, it's not likely to come up. By the 3rd date, she's already decided she likes you enough to see 3 times, so you don't need to worry. She may not have much of a past, either. Relax.

Just make it up. I make up most stories on a first date anyway.

What's an example of a question you'd refuse to answer ?

Honesty is the best policy, especially in this case where you don't have a skeleton in your closet you're trying to hide, but rather that you are embarrassed that your life has been too boring.

You are who you are. She's going to find out eventually anyways, so tell the truth.

You refusing to answer the questions is going to make it look like you're trying to hide something bad that you did.
