I have to, at the very least, sleep w/ underwear on for cleanliness reasons. Boyfriend does the same.
It's supposedly better for women not to wear panties to bed, since doing that can contribute to infections. So I never wear them to bed unless it's that time of the month (and I don't see what the "cleanliness" issue would be otherwise).
Depends on the time of year as to how comfortable I am with or without clothing in bed.
Sheets exist so mattresses do not dirty. You are meant to changed them regularly.
