And what kind of sex is it? The big thing is giving oral sex to guys. Is it that kind of sex, or vag penetration?
Study says, "Data are limited on sexual behaviors of middle school students. Based on an average of reports from 10 states and 6 large local school districts, 19.8 percent of middle schoolers have ever had sexual intercourse."
Again, sometimes when a person is mired down in a particular environment they make the mistake of thing that environment is the norm when it really isn't.
On average only 19% of middle school kids have engaged in sex. Clearly more work needs to be done to better educate that age group, but at least it's not a majority.
That's why I said at SOME schools.
Plus, there's this whole issue with whether certain acts are sex or not. I'll say when I was in middle school, sex was not all that common.
We did have a few folks who were open about it and there was an incident where students were caught and 2 of the students actually contracted genital herpes cause the third party didn't inform them she had it, but it wasn't all that common.
But high school truly opened up my eyes to the various lifestyles young men and women live. And by the time I graduated high school, there were quite a few young girls coming into high school who already had 1 year olds.
It might also be a socioeconomic thing. A lot of the girls who were sexually active at young ages or promiscuous or teenage parents were lower income and usually the children of immigrants from Latin America.

Nearly one out of five. If that doesn't put it well within the range of normal, I don't know what does.
I take sex surveys with a grain of salt. Men over report and women underreport
Plus there's this whole discussion of what "counts" as sex. I remember a guy who told me he counts oral sex as a sexual partner(no vaginal) and I also remember a girl who told me any sex outside of a relationship doesn't count lol.
