Wow, that's pretty low at just 2% don't you think. But, I think an ideal man or woman would be pretty equally hard to find.
There are waaaay more good-looking women on this planet, than there are good-looking men. It's so easy nowadays for a man to set himself apart from the crowd. He just has to dress appropriately, work out and comb his hair from time to time...

Lol I'm sure you are right about that and you get no argument from me about that. I'm saying about 3 billion men in the world and only 2% look good, that just seem way too low to me. I don't have any clue what the male population is of the about 7 billion on this planet but I'm sure its several billions. Also the question is about ideal man or woman, does the ideal man or woman have to be all about looks. I'm sure its different for everybody.
Much harder to find a quality woman who is single and available than any man I know of. Most the single guys I know it would be like finding gold and a needle in a haystack......the gals are almost always too dumb to see or notice it though.
Unless someone is bi-sexual, I don't think they can really answer this question. I know I've only ever looked for men, so I have no idea how hard it is to find women. I can say that I don't need (or really want) an "ideal" man... flaws give character (and I don't have to worry so much about my own shortcomings! lol).

Correct. We can argue and argue, but there are too many factors to consider. What makes someone an ideal mate? How available are these people according to region? And as Jillabean points out, how would a woman know how hard it is to find an ideal woman, and vice versa?
What's going to happen is that the usual suspects will come along and whine that men/women only care about looks, everyone is so superficial, blah blah blah, gender bashing, misandry/misogyny, and posters complaining that it doesn't matter because they will never find anyone. It's pointless.
