To sum it up: it is so frustrating that it is really tempting to settle with somebody whom you would never be together with if you would have more choices.
Don't ever settle. I'd rather be single than settle and end up in a toxic relationship after some time.

Yeah, I agree. I'm very selective, but I've been told 1000 times to lower my expectations. Now that I'm getting old, I guess I have to consider it. Ugh. Also, its not that I don't have patience, but its been 5 years since my divorce. Dating is depressing and tiring.

Depends on where you lower the expectations.

I hear ya. I never dated women with kids either until a year ago. I'm child free (as likely everyone on this board knows) and 6'0", so I meet many women's minimum height requirements.
